Paleo Diet

The Paleo diet is a fantastic starting point for anyone who wishes to implement a healthy lifestyle. I started my health journey with the Paleo diet in March 2016 and followed it for about a year and a half. I have since learned to be more intuitive with my eating and listen to my body’s needs.

Paleo can be a great stepping stone to a healthier lifestyle, the reason being because of its simplicity. Stick with meat, poultry, seafood, fats/oils, nuts, fruits, and vegetables, and it’s sure to work for you. Foods you will be avoiding include dairy, soy, tofu, peanuts, legumes, sugar, potatoes, vegetable oils, grains, and cereals.

The theory is that humans are not adapted to digest grains, so eating them can cause many chronic health conditions. Grains contain what is known as phytic acid which makes them not readily absorbed by the gut. However, I have learned a strategy known as soaking or sprouting nuts, seeds, and grains that break down these anti-nutrients, rendering the food more absorbable.

Still, if you’re looking for a simple starting point without the need of hiring a coach, then my suggestion for you would be the Paleo Diet. However, now that the Paleo Diet is very popular, many recipes are either complicated or don’t work. Below you will find a list of my personal Paleo recipes that I have used for almost two years.
